Rewards for Potty Training

Unusual, but a patent has been issued for potty training, based on the rewards system. Using the rewards system to encourage potty training is seemingly well known, but apparently this is a little different...

Potty Training Rewards uses its advent-calendar style cabinet, a push button voice chip, along with visual memorization association to help teach the growing child how to use the potty. PTR comes in two versions, accommodating either the young boy or girl. Each PTR consists of 24 individual windows containing a chocolate surprise. After the child has successfully used the potty, they press the push button, which gives them a congratulatory message, which says: “Great job you’re a big boy (girl) now open a door and find a surprise!” Under each chocolate surprise, a picture, which matches another on the exterior, is revealed. The child can then match the identical images, serving as a memory game.

Who needs nappies?

An interesting article on training babies from birth! Has anyone tried this? Give us a post on your results!

It's the bottom line: no nappies, no mess
When baby Mary was born at Moruya Hospital in February, I felt relief to see Prue changing her nappy and apparently putting aside her plans for baby potty training.

Then we came home. Even before the remains of Mary's umbilical cord had fallen off, I saw Prue take off her nappy one morning and walk purposefully to our bathroom. A few minutes later she returned to the lounge room triumphant. "She did a poo in the sink."
